Mr. Brummett
Garfield Brummett, 66, died Sunday, October 15, in Big Springs.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday in the Nalley Pickle Rosewood
Chapel, with the William H. Hatler, pastor of the Baptist Temple
officiating.

Burial ws in Cottage Hill Cemetery in Hamilton County. Brother Hershall
Davis of Hillsboro held graveside services.

Mr. Brummett was born February 14, 1912 in Hamilton County. He married
Leta Ireta Solomon, July 24, 1932, in Hamilton. He farmed and ranched
in Hamilton County until 1951. After several years of living in Pecos,
he moved to Big Springs 13 years ago. He drove a truck for Duncan
Drilling Company before going to work for the Permian Company.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and was one of the directors of
AARP. he was also active in the Kentwood Older Adult Center.

Survivors include his wife of the Big Springs home; a sister-in-law,
Lotta Crews, Hillsboro; two brother O. H. and W. P. Brummett both of
Hamilton County; five sisters, Euphia Anderson of Grand Prairie, Ruby
Vaughn of Olton and Mrs. Maggie Paulson, Geraldine Bralley and Nellie B.
Massengale all of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews, and a
brother-in-law, D. A. Soloman of Waco.
